Window replacement in Endeavour Hills.
Endeavour Hills was one of the first big planned satellite suburbs in south-east Melbourne — built out fast through the late 1970s and 80s, with most original window stock now 35–45 years old. Aluminium frames with chalky white powder coat, steel-frame casements at the corners of older homes, single glazing throughout, and condensation problems all winter long.
The Endeavour Hills window story.
Late-70s and 80s stock at end of life.
The original Endeavour Hills estate was built out in two big waves from 1976 onwards. The window stock from that build is past 40 years — powder coat oxidised, rubber gaskets turned to chalk, friction stays seized, and corner-rust on the steel-frame windows that were also common in the era. Almost every job here is a full house re-window, not a single-window swap, because once you start pulling one out the surrounding ones are obviously next.
Cool-foothills winters — condensation everywhere.
Endeavour Hills sits at the base of the Dandenongs and gets a few degrees colder than the flat Casey suburbs — cool air drains off the hills overnight. The result is some of the worst single-glaze condensation in the City of Casey: water running off the glass onto the architraves, mould on the reveals in every wet room. Double-glazing is genuinely transformative here, not just a marketing line — we’ve had owners message us after the first winter to say their gas heating bill dropped by a third.
Frame condensation & mould remediation.
Roughly half the Endeavour Hills jobs we quote have visible mould or water damage on the timber reveals around the existing windows — that’s decades of condensation tracking down and soaking in. We replace the affected reveals and architraves at the same time as the windows; trying to paint over wet rot is a waste. Allow $80–$200 per opening for reveal replacement on top of the window cost.
